Chanukah lamp (menorah, hanukah lamp) is a type of lamp used in the homes of the jewish faith to commemorate the dedication of the altar in the prified Temple of Jerusalem after the victory of Judas Maccabaeus over the Syrians in the 165 BC. Such lamps have been made as a wall lamp, as a candelabrum to stand on a table or in various adaptations of the candelabrum type, sometimes with nine lights.
