A SMALL COLLECTION OF ANTIQUE SILVER AND OBJECTS OF VERTU

silver sugar tongs - Austria

Austrian antique silver sugar tongs these silver sugar tongs bears town mark of Prague (Austria), year 1837, purity degree 13 loth, silversmith 'FH'.
Their plain shape is vaguely inspired to the 'fire tongs type' which in England preceded tea tongs and sugar tongs.
The tongs are 6 1/4 in. long (cm. 16) and were bought by an UK dealer through the Internet.

This item is not for sale, but most of my pieces were bought through the Internet. On the bottom and on the right bar of this page there are some links to silver and antique dealers websites
