silver ash container (ashtray) - England
this is an unusual silver example of English ashtray made in Birmingham (UK) in 1930 by silversmith S L D.
The ashtray has a special mechanism (pat. N° 253518 No-fume) which prevents smoke smelling to spread outside the container. The ashtray has a black bakelite base and a guillochet motif on the body.
It is 3 1/4 in. high (cm. 8) and was bought from an Italian dealer.
This item is not for sale, but most of my pieces were bought through the Internet.
On the bottom and on the right bar of this page there are some links to silver and antique dealers websites |
