silver salt cellar in Pan-Slavic style![]() It has tapering cylindrical form standing on three bracket type feet, the upper perimeter is chased with a diaper frieze. To the base it bears fake maker's mark A.M. and a mark incorporating the date 1879 and the purity stamp 84 (84 zolotnick corresponds to 875/1000). Additionaly it is struck again with the purity mark 84 to the exterior base of one the the feet. The salt cellar is 2 in. wide (cm. 5). Beware!! Today most of the Russian silver and Judaica silver are new or fake This item is not for sale, but most of my pieces were bought through the Internet.
