Sharman D. Neill, Dublin silver mether cup - Ireland
this little silver mether cup (or christening mug) standing on four buttress feet was made in London in 1904
by silversmith Spencer & Co.It is similar in shape to another bowl in my collection, made in 1909 by Hamilton & Inches of Edinburgh but it has a fluted edge with remembrances of Art Nouveau style.
The mether cup is 2 1/8 in. high (cm. 5,2) and was bought from a UK dealer through the Internet.
