Spencer & Co. silver mether cup - England
Spencer & Co. antique silver mether cup or christening mug this little silver mether cup (or christening mug) standing on four buttress feet was made in London in 1904 by silversmith Spencer & Co.
It is similar in shape to another bowl on my collection, made in 1909 by Hamilton & Inches of Edinburgh but it has a fluted edge with remembrances of Art Nouveau style.
The mether cup is 3 in. high (cm. 7,5) and was bought from an Italian dealer at an Antique Fair.
