glass and silver muffineer or sugar shaker - France
during the Victorian era shakers were used to sprinkle sugar or cinnamon and sugar on bread of muffins.
This glass sugar shaker or muffineer has silver cover and was made in France. It bears "Minerve" hallmark used in France from 1838 for 950/1000 silver.
The shaker is 5 in. high (cm. 13) and was bought from an Italian dealer in an Antique Fair.
This item is not for sale, but most of my pieces were bought through the Internet.
On the right bar of this page there are some links to silver and antique dealers websites |
