silver baby rattle - Italy





Italian antique silver baby rattle this is a silver baby rattle made in Italy by silversmith Pietro Formusa (later Giuseppe Formusa), Via d'Olivelli 71 - Palermo
This rattle was obtained about 1950 by a beginning 19th century die with the ancient silversmith's monogram PF and '800' in 'rilievo' (relief). It has also the 1944/1970 lozenge hallmark '3 PA'.
The rattle is 2 3/4 in. long (cm. 6,5) and was bought from an Italian dealer at an Antique Fair.
