silver octagonal drum mustard pot - England
this silver mustard pot was made in Birmingham (UK) by silversmith Charles Wilkes (Mott Street, Birmingham)
in 1901 (the mark was registered in February 1893).It has straight sided octagonal shape, blue-glass liner, stepped rim, crest and coronet on the hinged lid with a shell shaped thumb piece.
This mustard pot is an Edwardian production of a model in use since the 18th century. You may see an example in the last photo below, where is illustrated a quite similar mustard pot made by Robert Hennel in 1792.
The mustard pot is 2 in. high (cm. 5) and was bought from an Italian dealer at a Flea Market.
