antique silver 'topo' or 'tupo' (pin spoon) - Bolivia
this is a silver pin with spoon's shape finial made in Bolivia in the 18th/19th century.This unusual pins were used by women indios (or 'cholas') to shut down their shawls. It bears the 'swan' mark used in France since 1893 for silver of unknown origin sold on public auctions. The pin is engraved with floral motifs, side scrolls and monogram AF.
